CREW TECHNICIAN – Weatherization

FSLA Status: Non-exempt


This position is responsible for providing weatherization services as directed by the Crew Chief with an emphasis on installing insulation.                            


This position is responsible for performing weatherization services within qualified residences. As directed by the Crew Chief, the Crew Technician loads equipment and materials onto the truck for each day’s work, performs weatherization services on the job site and performs set-up and take-down of material and equipment (including any required safety protocols) at each job. This position performs a variety of weatherization services with an emphasis on air sealing installing insulation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):

  1. Weatherization Program responsibilities:
    • Take necessary action to complete contract goals.
    • Successfully work with others to achieve desired results’ contribute to team projects; exchange ideas and opinions, develop positive working relationships. Listen well and keep others informed. Demonstrate effective communication for requirements of the position.
    • Practice excellent work ethics. Properly handle confidential information. Avoid situations and actions considered inappropriate or that present a conflict of interest. Demonstrate integrity in all work. Have a strong sense of right and wrong and consistently strive to do what is right.
    • Provide excellent customer service. Maintain a competent and professional demeanor in dealing with internal and external customers, and the public. Put the customer first. Keep appointments and be on time. Show respect and courtesy to customer; demonstrate patience with complaining customers.
  2. Crew Technician Functions
  1. Teamwork, communication, professionalism and ethics
    • Coordinate and communicate in a professional manner with Crew Chiefs, Field Supervisors, Internal Production Manager and others to verify job work flow, required materials, etc.
    • Work cooperatively as an effective team member to ensure a smooth work flow and effective use of time.
    • Provide courteous and professional customer service when interacting with residents, and owners of properties where work is being performed.
    • Maintain professionalism at all times including in transit.
