Hughes

ELL Teacher

Courtney Hughes teaches English Language Learners (ELL) at La Casa de Esperanza. She is grateful to serve in this role after spending 16 years teaching Spanish and gaining extensive experience across elementary, middle, high school, and university settings.

Ms. Hughes was inspired to become an educator by exceptional teachers who challenged, supported, and motivated her to achieve her goals. That same spirit of encouragement, along with a strong pay-it-forward mindset, guides her work with students each day. She believes deeply in the lasting impact of education and that every child deserves a supportive, engaging, and nurturing learning environment.

She chose to teach at La Casa de Esperanza because of her passion for working with linguistically and culturally diverse learners and is proud to be part of a school community where diversity is celebrated and intentionally nurtured.

Outside the classroom, Ms. Hughes enjoys salsa dancing, traveling, spending time in nature, and being with her family activities that help her recharge and bring positive energy back to her students.
