La Casa de Esperanza is a community-based organization committed to providing social and economic opportunities for our local population. With a focus on the Hispanic population, La Casa assists more than 20,000 individuals and families annually through a variety of programs and services, including early childhood education, financial stability and tax services, homebuyer support, and more.
Established in 1966, a group of concerned citizens came together to form History Builders, Inc. The organization now known as La Casa de Esperanza, Inc. They purchased a house on Ryan Street from which they operated the organization’s first major project: a daycare program.
In 1979, La Casa de Esperanza relocated and expanded its physical operations twice. First came 410 Arcadian Avenue, which was renovated to accommodate administrative needs and house a multipurpose classroom. Next came the adjacent building, which today houses La Casa de Esperanza’s Community Center.
In 1999, La Casa began a capital campaign to raise $2.3 million to finance the construction of the organization’s new Community and Child Development Center. With their goal reached, the new center opened its doors in May 2001, allowing La Casa to expand its programs and pursue its goals more assertively than ever before.
Today, La Casa de Esperanza prides itself on the organization’s ongoing ability to establish and maintain powerful and effective partnerships with other community collaborators. La Casa’s community partners are a vital part of the growth and success of the organization and its programs.
La Casa de Esperanza provides opportunities for full social and economic participation in society, serving all in need with an emphasis on the Hispanic community.
