80/20 Dual Language Program
Our school is proud to offer an 80/20 Dual Language Program, designed to help students become bilingual, biliterate, academically successful, and culturally competent. Through instruction in both Spanish and English, students develop high levels of proficiency in two languages while mastering the same rigorous academic standards as their peers.
Our 80/20 Model
Our Dual Language Program begins in 4K with an 80/20 language allocation model, where approximately 80% of instruction is delivered in Spanish and 20% in English. As students’ progress through the elementary grades, English instruction gradually increases until students receive approximately 50% of instruction in each language.
This research-based approach allows students to build a strong foundation in literacy and academic content in Spanish while steadily developing English language proficiency. Skills learned in one language transfer to the other, strengthening overall language development and academic achievement.
Academic Excellence Through Bilingualism
Students in our Dual Language Program receive instruction in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies while developing proficiency in both Spanish and English. They engage with the same grade-level curriculum and high academic expectations as all students, with instruction intentionally designed to support learning in two languages.
