Melissa Browne joined La Casa de Esperanza Charter School in 2021 as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction. She began her career in education in 1999 as a middle school teacher at Bruce Guadalupe Community School, part of the United Community Center in Milwaukee. Over the course of 15 years, she advanced into leadership roles, serving as Educator Effectiveness Coordinator and later as Principal of UCC Acosta Middle School.
Driven by her passion for community and education, Melissa made the move to La Casa to serve the students and families of Waukesha, where she resides. In her current role, she works closely with teachers and students to foster academic growth through engaging, hands-on, and up-to-date curriculum. Her favorite part of the job is celebrating the success of both students and staff—she finds joy in their progress and in the daily smiles of the children she serves.
Outside of school, Melissa enjoys spending time with her active, sports-loving blended family. Her children are involved in college and high school athletics and activities, and she and her husband can often be found at games, community events, and family gatherings throughout Waukesha. She loves connecting with others and encourages families to say hello if they see her around town.
