Waukesha School Board voted 8-1 on Nov. 12 to close Bethesda, Hawthorne and the former Whittier elementary schools<\/a>. The closures are part of the district\u2019s long-term “Optimizing Our Future” facilities plan. Under option E1, the district plans to move the K-8 STEM School to Horning Middle School. Board member Diane Voit cast the lone “no” vote.
