Shannon Olson has been with La Casa de Esperanza since August 2022 and serves as a Middle School Teacher. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Education with a minor in Science from Alverno College in 2011. Shannon brings a wide range of experiences to her classroom, having taught subjects including science, math, engineering, woodshop, English as a Second Language, reading, and writing.
Her teaching experience includes working with students who are English proficient as well as Spanish dominant, ensuring all learners have access to knowledge at their level. Shannon has participated in unique educational experiences, including an archaeological dig in Western Wisconsin and international teaching collaborations in Russia with delegates from Korea, Germany, China, and Russia.
Shannon’s passion for teaching comes from seeing students’ understanding click and knowing that her guidance helps spark their curiosity about the world around them.
