Anselmo Villarreal
Anselmo Villarreal is the President & CEO of La Casa de Esperanza, a 44-year-old nonprofit community-based organization serving low-income people with a particular emphasis on serving the Hispanic community. Anselmo has 22 years of experience in the field of nonprofit management and has provided leadership and management to La Casa for 20 years.
Anselmo's primary responsibility is to provide strategic vision, planning and direction of the organization under the guidance of the Board of Directors and in line with the organizational mission. Dedicated to advancing economic development, as well as employment and job training in the community, Anselmo Villarreal is a committee member of several organizations including the Waukesha Area Chamber of Commerce, Waukesha Rotary Club, Workforce Development Center, Mexican American Solidarity Foundation, Wisconsin Representative of the Advisory Council of the Institute of Mexicans Abroad, Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission and American Lung Association, the Board of Directors and Executive Committee (Treasuruer) of the National Council of La Raza, and others. Anselmo was selected to participate as a Denali Fellow of the Denali Initiative. The Denali Initiative is an enterprise of Manchester Crafstmen's Guild, which challenges leaders of nonprofit organizations to create and implement a social enterprise within their communities. Anselmo was also selected to and completed the Executive Training Program of Stanford University.
Anselmo began his career in the federal government of México, the country of his birth and college education. He advanced his career by earning a Master's degree in economics from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1986.
As a devout family man, Anselmo's caring begins at home with his wife of 21 years, Elvira; his 17-year-old son, Roberto; and his 11-year old son, Daniel.
