Kid's Café Program

The Kids Café program, developed by America's Second Harvest National Network of Food Banks, is an after-school meal program for children from low-income families.

Started as a grassroots effort in Georgia in 1993, Kids Caf´ is now the most expansive children's food program in the nation, providing meals to needy children at over 1,600 sites in 19 states.

La Casa was chosen as a program site because it provides a wide variety of tutoring, mentoring and other after-school enrichment activities for Waukesha area children and a safe, accessible environment.

Thanks to a partnership with America's Second Harvest of Wisconsin and the generous financial support of Mr. Robert Botchek, president of Tableau LLC, La Casa's Kids Café currently offers hot, nutritious meals to Waukesha area children two times a week.
