La Casa was honored to participate with the International Artist Exchange Program, which was a partnership with Rose Glen Elementary School in Waukesha, Painting It Forward and La Escuela Flavio Rodas Noriega in Chichicastenango, del Quiche (Elementary School in Guatemala). The purpose of this exchange was to bring artists and artisans from Guatemala to Waukesha to participate in Fiesta Waukesha where they were able to sell their goods, play music and expose Waukesha residents to the Guatemalan culture. During the event, these nine artisans were weaving, painting and playing the marimba so that members of the community were able to see these ancient techniques in action.
