Shari Campbell | President & CEO

Shari Campbell serves as the President and CEO of La Casa de Esperanza, Inc. (La Casa), a community-based organization dedicated to serving Waukesha’s low-income and Latino population since 1966. Shari’s primary responsibility as President and CEO is to provide vision and direction in forwarding La Casa’s mission, under the guidance of the Board of Directors.

Shari grew up in a small town in Northwestern Wisconsin. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay with double majors in Human Development and Elementary Education, and later earned her Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA). The vast majority of Shari’s experience has been working in non-profit organizations, having served in this sector for 33 years. She has been with La Casa de Esperanza for the last 23 years.

After graduating with her bachelor’s degree, she and her husband, who was in the active-duty military, spent four years in Alaska and eight years in upstate New York. During this time, Shari owned a daycare center in Fairbanks, Alaska, served as Preschool Director / Clinical Coordinator for a rehabilitation center in Watertown, New York, and directed two daycare centers for the Salvation Army in Syracuse, New York.

After adopting their two sons, they returned to Wisconsin and Shari began working at La Casa de Esperanza as the Director of Children’s Education Programs. During her first 21 years at La Casa, Shari served in multiple progressive leadership roles including Director of Programs, Director of Development, and Chief Operating Officer. Shari was appointed as Interim President and CEO in March 2021 and appointed as President and CEO in December 2021.

Shari is also a member of the La Casa Village Board of Directors, La Casa de Esperanza’s Education Committee which serves as the Charter School Board, and the Sueños Foundation Board of Directors.
