Cinco de Mayo

Monday, May 5th, 2008

Cinco de Mayo celebrates the victory of the Mexicans over the French in the Battle of Puebla in 1862. It is primarily a regional holiday celebrated in the Mexican city of Puebla and throughout the state of Puebla. However, it is also celebrated in other parts of the country and in U.S. cities with a significant Mexican population.

The event features two performances (morning and noon), and takes place in La Casa's Col. Agustin A. and Gloria A. Ramirez Multipurpose Room at 410 Arcadian Avenue. Teachers are encouraged to bring students to this joyous cultural celebration. Special cost: $5/student.

Corporate table purchases are available ($200/table of 8), as well as individual ticket purchases ($25/each).
